There are so many fun details in this Custom bathroom in the heights Houston TX.
Starting from the floor up, we really wanted to incorporate the warmth of wood into the design, but wood flooring in a bathroom is a bad idea! We instead chose to install a luxury vinyl plank flooring that is 100 percent waterproof, providing for us the white oak-herringbone look we're looking for. The result being a beautiful flooring product with texture and a lot of movement and also the peace of mind knowing it's completely water safe.
We went with a floating slab-front, white oak vanity to continue the warmth and topped it with a stunning piece of natural stone. Behind the vanity we went with floor-to-ceiling 1x6 inch tile set vertically, extending the height of the room and giving it a little texture. Using a matching white grout minimizes the contrast. What really lengthens the room are the three custom mirrors going from back splash height all the way to the ceiling, adding a tremendous amount of drama.
To the right of the vanity, we've built a floor to ceiling built-in storage for linens, laundry etc. We've hidden outlets inside. The water closet is nice and private, out-of-sight behind the storage.
For the wet area, we chose to use large format tile giving us a lot of wall coverage and minimal amount of grout, going with a really timeless pattern of Calacatta marble. We have a nice deep soaking tub that's not too wide but really comfortable and inside the shower we have a small bench footstep for shaving body jets, a hand shower, and a huge rain shower. To top things off, we added a modern chandelier tying the darker elements together the room.
